Professional Background

Mr. Bergin was the managing partner of the firm for 33 years, is a member of the firm’s executive committee, and is a founding member of Meritas, a global alliance of more than 180 independent, full-service law firms dedicated to a quality assurance program to ensure that clients receive high-quality legal expertise worldwide.

His practice focuses on real estate, securitization of financing of real property, agricultural law, and general business law. His clients include a regional grocery store chain, several medium-sized construction firms, the Farm Credit System of the State of Nevada, various agricultural ditch companies, and a number of ranching and farming operations. He also counsels major real estate developers, title companies, and car and farm implement dealerships.

Mr. Bergin is also a farmer, having owned a large organic lettuce and alfalfa farm. He is a major supporter of 4-H and Future Farmers of America. He is a former owner of Nevada Fresh Pak Farms.

Real Estate & Land Use Planning

Mr. Bergin represents numerous title companies in preparation of transactional documents and review of claims made against title companies for title policies. He represents lenders in foreclosures, and he has handled numerous matters dealing with farm and ranch properties, subdivisions, and commercial real estate.

Business Entities & Transactions

Mr. Bergin represents numerous local and federally sponsored corporations, such as American AgCredit for the Eastern slope of California and the entire State of Nevada. He advises and represents clients in the acquisition and sale of corporate assets and corporations.

Energy, Environment & Natural Resources

Mr. Bergin represents Carson-Truckee Conservation District and Steamboat Canal and has been involved in the acquisition and leases of numerous mineral and water resources.
