Katrina Weil

Katrina Weil is a litigation attorney in McDonald Carano’s Reno office. Her experience includes drafting pretrial motions, including motions for summary judgment, demurrers, and motions to dismiss, attending hearings and arguing motions in state court, drafting and reviewing discovery responses, analyzing documents for document production, and drafting discovery-related motions.

Before joining McDonald Carano, Katrina served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Justices Linda M. Bell and James W. Hardesty of the Nevada Supreme Court for whom she prepared and edited bench memoranda for judicial panels and the court en banc, drafted and edited orders and opinions, and conducted legal research and prepared summaries of case law from various state and federal courts. During law school, Katrina also served as an Extern for Judge James C. Mahan of the United States District Court for the District of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Katrina also practiced at a civil litigation firm serving clients in Nevada and California in both state and federal courts. She worked on litigated matters involving employment law, business law, professional liability, and public entity liability.

While in law school, Katrina served as the Executive Managing Editor (Vol. 21) and Junior Staffer (Vol. 20) of the Nevada Law Journal and earned a CALI award (highest grade in class) in Law and Business of the Music Industry. She also participated in the Kid’s Court Clinic, Organization of Women Law Students, and Sports Entertainment Law Association.

While earning an MBA and B.B.A., Katrina was on the Big Sky All-Academic Team from 2014-2018, which is awarded for 3.2 GPA or higher and a starting athlete in sport. She was also a Four-year NCAA Division I Student-Athlete and a member of Women’s Golf for which she served as Team Captain from 2015 to 2018.
