Cassin Brown

Cassin Brown joined McDonald Carano in 2025 as a member of the Commercial & Complex Litigation Practice Group. Cassin most recently served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Nevada Attorney General’s Office where he primarily represented the Nevada Department of Environmental Protection, the Nevada Division of Water Resources, and the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. He also provided general counsel services to numerous other state agencies, boards, and commissions. Cassin focused on general litigation, multistate litigation, and appeals of regulatory decisions before state and federal courts in Nevada.

Prior to the Nevada Attorney General’s Office, Cassin was a litigation attorney at a regional law firm where he represented clients in a wide range of litigation matters focusing on disputes involving complex commercial transactions, construction, land use, real estate, and bankruptcy. In addition to representing clients at hearings in state and federal court, private mediation, and settlement conferences, Cassin’s experience also includes appeals of state and local administrative and regulatory decisions in state and federal courts. He has advised clients on litigation strategy, rules of civil and appellate procedure, administrative procedure under NRS 233B, and proceedings before state and local administrative and regulatory bodies.

Cassin has experience drafting and preparing motions, pleadings, discovery and discovery responses, and other legal documents and correspondence, as well as conducting and defending depositions. Cassin has researched and drafted memoranda on a wide variety of procedural and substantive issues of law.

Cassin’s background includes an externship with the Honorable Larry R. Hicks of the U.S. District Court District of Nevada, an internship in the Division of Boards and Open Government at the Nevada Attorney General’s Office, and a clerkship in the Consumer Rights Project at the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada.
