Zach Besso Receives Up & Coming Business Person Recognition
McDonald Carano congratulates Zach Besso on being recognized in the “Up & Coming Business Person” category in Northern Nevada Business Weekly’s Best In Business Awards 2025. The Best In Business Awards determine “which business leaders and companies have had the biggest impact in the Northern Nevada business community.”
The Best In Business Awards contest is based on a three-week online nomination period and a three-week online finalist voting period open to the public. The awards committee selected only three Up & Coming Business Person winners representing the recipients of the three highest numbers of votes in a category that Northern Nevada Business Weekly describes as “people to watch in the region.”

Zachary D. Besso, a fourth-generation Nevadan, is an attorney at McDonald Carano LLP.
In September 2024, Besso joined the Reno office of the law firm of McDonald Carano after serving for two years as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Larry R. Hicks in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada in Reno. He also served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Miranda M. Du, then Chief District Court Judge for the District of Nevada.
Besso’s exposure to business occurred throughout his upbringing in a family that owns and operates one of the longest running privately held companies in Nevada.
Besso earned a Juris Doctor degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, a Master of Arts degree in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Besso is a graduate of Bishop Manogue Catholic High School. He coached soccer at Bishop Manogue for five years and was twice voted the Nevada Interscholastic Athletic Association’s Northern 4A Boys Soccer Coach of the Year. Prior to coaching, Besso played club soccer for the University of Nevada, Reno, and trained with a professional soccer team in Asia.
