Celebrating Over 75 Years of Serving Nevada’s Legal, Business, Government, and Civic Communities

Ian DeValliere Receives Up & Coming Business Person Recognition

McDonald Carano congratulates Ian DeValliere on being recognized in the “Up & Coming Business Person” category in Northern Nevada Business Weekly’s Best In Business Awards 2025. The Best In Business Awards determine “which business leaders and companies have had the biggest impact in the Northern Nevada business community.”

The Best In Business Awards contest is based on a three-week online nomination period and a three-week online finalist voting period open to the public. The awards committee selected only three Up & Coming Business Person winners representing the recipients of the three highest numbers of votes in a category that Northern Nevada Business Weekly describes as “people to watch in the region.”

Here on page B18, and provided below, is the publication’s description of Ian’s Up & Coming Business Person recognition.

Taking first place honors is attorney Ian DeValliere from McDonald Carano LLP.

Based in the Reno office, DeValliere is a member of the Tax Practice Group and Trust & Estates Practice Group. He joined McDonald Carano in 2024 after earning a Juris Doctor from University of Notre Dame Law School. In addition to his full-time law practice, Ian is currently enrolled at New York University School of Law to earn a LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Taxation.

Since 2021, he has also been serving as a Coach for the High Sierra Youth Lacrosse Association and an Assistant Coach at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School. Ian is a proud Nevadan and was born and raised in Reno. He lives in Reno with his wife Kayla, a medical student at the University of Nevada, Reno, and their golden retriever, Donner.

Prior to law school, DeValliere served in the Executive Office of the President of the United States as a full-time executive assistant for the White House Domestic Policy Council/Office of Public Liaison.

He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in business economics and public policy from George Washington University, where he was captain of the men’s club lacrosse team.

In the 2025 Best In Business Awards contest, there were more than 250 finalists in 31 categories. The complete list of winners in all 31 categories is available here.
