Susan Stewart Joins McDonald Carano
McDonald Carano welcomes Susan Stewart to our Reno office as a member of our Construction Law & Litigation Practice Group and Commercial & Complex Litigation Practice Group. Ms. Stewart served in the Nevada Attorney General’s Office for 20 years prior to joining McDonald Carano.
Ms. Stewart most recently served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Nevada Attorney General’s Office and Construction Law Counsel for the State Public Works Division. She managed the daily legal functions for the State Public Works Division and the implementation of a billion-dollar construction budget. Ms. Stewart also represented the State Public Works Division’s interests throughout legislative sessions and presented all legal matters before the Division’s Board and various state-level governing bodies. She also was responsible for the development of all contracts, agreements and leases for the Division.
Ms. Stewart is admitted to practice in California and Nevada, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, U.S. District Court, Southern District of California, U.S. District Court, Nevada, and the U.S. District Court, Western District of California.
In May 2026, Ms. Stewart received a Certificate of Recognition from Governor Joe Lombardo and a Certificate of Recognition from Attorney General Aaron Ford.
Ms. Stewart earned a J.D. from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law and is inducted into The Order of the Barristers.
