Gaming Law Board, Gaming Law Journal, Student Fellowship Program
McDonald Carano and attorneys Bud Hicks, A.G. Burnett, Greg Giordano and Dennis Gutwald proudly continue our long-time financial support of the UNLV Gaming Law Journal, which is a legal scholarship publication edited and published by students of the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The Gaming Law Journal is funded 100% by sponsors and publishes twice each year in conjunction with the International Masters of Gaming Law and the Gaming Law Section of the State Bar of Nevada. The student-led publication analyzes the law and policy implications of gaming case law, legislation, administrative regulations, and gaming legal events. The Gaming Law Journal has made an impact on the advancement of gaming law, is cited by courts, and referenced by legislators. The first issue was published in Spring 2010 and McDonald Carano has been there since the beginning to support these students in this and other endeavors.
We would like to acknowledge the additional involvement with the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law by Bud Hicks and A.G. Burnett who serve on its Gaming Law Advisory Board, and Greg Giordano who also serves on its Gaming Law Advisory Board as well as on the Journal’s Editorial Board Advisory Committee. Greg also serves as Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Gaming Law Section of the State Bar of Nevada which co-publishes the Journal.
McDonald Carano also participates in the Professional Development Fellowship Program of Boyd School of Law to provide diverse students with an educational and practical experience by pairing them with local legal employers with a long-term goal of increasing diversity in the legal profession.
