Celebrating Over 75 Years of Serving Nevada’s Legal, Business, Government, and Civic Communities

Supporting the Nevada State Bar’s High School Mock Trial Program

McDonald Carano is proud to provide financial support to Reno High School’s Mock Trial Team to help cover costs for the students’ participation in the Nevada State Competition March 5-6 in Las Vegas. The Reno High School team earned a second-place finish in the Northern Nevada Regional Competition, as well as three of the four “Best Counsel” awards and one of the two “Best Witness” awards. The top team from the state competition will then advance to the National High School Mock Trial Championship May 7-9 in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Nevada State Bar’s annual High School Mock Trial Program is administered by a volunteer Mock Trial Committee, with assistance from the Washoe County Bar Association, and funding from the Nevada Bar Foundation and an endowment made on behalf of attorney Charles Deaner. The state championship round is named in his honor. More information about the mock trial program is available at https://nvbar.org/for-the-public/mocktrial/.
