Supporting Reno High School’s “We the People” Team in the National Finals
From April 17-19, high school students from across the U.S. will compete at the “We the People” National Finals in Washington, D.C. Reno High School’s We the People team qualified to compete, and McDonald Carano’s Government Affairs & Advocacy Group is proud to provide financial support to help cover travel costs and other expenses. We also thank and congratulate Michael Pagni for serving as a team coach.
The National Finals competition consists of simulated congressional hearings where students are scored on their testimony as expert witnesses on constitutional issues before volunteer judges serving as legislators. “We the People” is created by the Center for Civic Education, a nonpartisan nonprofit focused on strengthening civic understanding of democratic principles and encouraging participation in democracy.

The four-part series is an inspiring coming-of-age story that follows teenagers from across the U.S. with diverse personal and political backgrounds as they come together to compete in the nation’s premier civics competition – We the People.
