With deep sadness, McDonald Carano announces the passing of James W. Bradshaw on May 29.

Supporting Nevada’s Men and Women of the Armed Forces and their Families

McDonald Carano proudly serves as a Star Sponsor of the May 23 fundraising gala for the Nevada Military Support Alliance. NMSA has raised more than $10 million to help support Nevada’s men and women of the Armed Forces and their families. McDonald Carano Partner Pat Lundvall has continued to serve on the Board of Directors since the organization was founded in 2003. Please click here to attend or donate to the Gala.

The guest speaker is SGT Julian “Trent” McDonald (Ret.), a highly decorated U.S. Army Ranger and Special Operations K9 handler. He served on active duty from 2005 to 2015, completing eight combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and more than 300 combat missions accompanied by his K9. He is a recipient of the Purple Heart. Assigned primarily to the 1st Ranger Battalion, SGT McDonald built an extensive operational record as a Special Operations K9 handler. He later served as Head K9 Instructor and trained more than 250 military working dogs. He is a leading voice on the treatment and long-term care of retired military working dogs.

NMSA initially served as a fund that would pay an immediate death benefit to the families of every Nevada soldier who lost his or her life in military service to our Nation because sometimes there was a delay from the military in the provision of death benefits, but families of the fallen soldier still had food to buy, house payments to make, medicines to purchase, and more. As the needs of Nevada’s military families changed over time, so too has NMSA to meet those needs. In 2010, the mission was expanded to also assist those returning home from the battlefield with catastrophic injuries. The fund was established by Jerry Bussell, who retired as a full Colonel in the Nevada Army National Guard, Perry M. Di Loreto and Joe W. Brown.
