Pat Lundvall Receives Women Inspiring Nevada Award
McDonald Carano congratulates Pat Lundvall, Chair of the Commercial & Complex Litigation Practice, on receiving a Women Inspiring Nevada award from Vegas Inc. that recognizes women leaders who “have the authority and power to move the needle in their business, are respected for accomplishments within their industries, give back to the community, and are sought out as trusted advisors and mentors within their field of influence.” Pat is one of 12 women selected to receive this prestigious honor which is presented annually to “visionary women leaders who have enormous impact on Southern Nevada.”
The Women Inspiring Nevada awards honor the “most influential and inspirational women in business and philanthropy in Southern Nevada who are pioneers in their industries, major drivers in our community, and inspiring a better tomorrow. These are local leaders who serve as sources of inspiration—to do more and to do better.” The 2022 Women Inspiring Nevada Awards is published in the May 5-11 issue of Las Vegas Weekly which can be viewed here on pages 41-59. Pat’s award profile on page 52 states:
Competition is a common denominator in Pat Lundvall’s life. Her competitive instincts were honed from an early age as the middle child in a family of thirteen, and as a natural-born competitor, Lundvall feels fortunate that a career in litigation found her.
Lundvall helps businesses by working to protect their legal rights and interests when other businesses infringe upon them. Along with other members of the McDonald Carano firm, Lundvall recently represented three of Nevada’s emergency room health care providers against the largest health insurance company in the world. They were successful in obtaining a $62.5 million judgment for these frontline workers for the services they provided to our community.
In addition to her pro bono legal work, Lundvall supports the Nevada Military Support Alliance, which was co-founded by her late husband after the first Nevada soldier lost his life during the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. The organization works to pay an immediate death benefit to the families of every Nevada soldier who lost his or her life in military service to our nation.
Pat leads McDonald Carano’s Commercial & Complex Litigation Practice which is ranked in the highest Band 1 category by Chambers USA, the leading independent legal evaluation organization. Clients have described Pat to Chambers as a “zealous advocate,” an “excellent litigator,” an “expert in her field” and “one of the best trial lawyers I’ve ever seen, possessing perseverance, tenacity, good judgment and composure under intense pressure.” Pat represents business clients in judge and jury trials in state and federal courts, as well as on appeal to the Nevada Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and U.S. Supreme Court.
Pat is the first attorney Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Civil Practice Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and the first attorney Board Certified as a Civil Trial Advocacy Specialist by the State Bar of Nevada. She is Martindale-Hubbell AV Peer Review Rated and has achieved the highly regarded Senior Fellow recognition from the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA), which is a nationwide invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society limited to 3,500 Fellows. Pat also co-founded the LCA’s Complex Commercial Litigation Institute and leads the group as an Advisory Board member.
Pat’s leadership in giving back to the community includes serving as the Board Vice President of the Nevada Military Support Alliance, one of many leadership roles she has held in NMSA since its founding in 2002. NMSA has raised millions of dollars to help Nevada veterans and their families. Pat’s community leadership has also earned her a “Distinguished Nevadan” award from the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents, a “New Thinking About Thinking” Award from the Keep Memory Alive/The Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, and a “Vegas Gives” award from Vegas Magazine.
