McDonald Carano Promotes Gaming & Administrative Law Attorney Dennis Gutwald to Partner
Las Vegas, NV – March 15, 2019 — McDonald Carano announced today that Dennis Gutwald has been elevated from Of Counsel to Partner, effective January 1, 2019. He has more than 20 years of experience counseling premier gaming companies, banks, investment companies and high-profile individuals on all aspects of gaming law in Nevada and nationally.
Mr. Gutwald assists clients as they navigate the complex regulatory approval process of the gaming industry both in Nevada and nationally. He helps clients as they submit all necessary applications and undergo investigations, simplifying the transaction process and skillfully guiding clients through investigations from start to finish. His extensive experience includes coordinating the license applications for the acquisition of gaming companies, service providers, and vendors in hundreds of jurisdictions, preparing gaming, liquor and other business applications for the ground-up development of numerous resort hotels and preserving grandfathered liquor and gaming land use entitlements.
In addition to serving as counsel to premier gaming companies, banks, investment companies and high-profile individuals, he also regularly counsels companies that conduct retail liquor sales in Nevada, including nightclubs, restaurants and taverns. Mr. Gutwald’s practice also includes service to cannabis retailers and wholesalers, guiding them through Nevada’s marijuana licensing process.
His previous experience includes spending seven years as a Senior Agent in the Investigations Division of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, which regulates the State of Nevada’s multi-billion-dollar gaming industry.
Mr. Gutwald earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas in 1986 and his J.D. from the University of Nevada, William S. Boyd School of Law in 2003. He is also a board member with Keep Memory Alive.
