McDonald Carano Announces Matt Addison to Serve as Reno Office Managing Partner as John Frankovich Transitions to Senior Counsel
Reno, NV — January 10, 2018 — McDonald Carano LLP announced today that Matt Addison has been elected as the new Managing Partner of the Firm’s Reno office as John Frankovich transitions into a Senior Counsel role. Mr. Frankovich served as Managing Partner of the Firm for 14 years and Managing Partner of the Reno office for the past two years. Mr. Addison will begin his term effective January 1, 2018. John will remain an important part of our law firm for years to come.
John Frankovich has been an attorney with McDonald Carano for 44 years, focusing his practice principally on real property development and related transactions, litigation, and public utilities matters. He has been involved with a wide variety of complex real estate matters in Northern Nevada that have helped shape Reno and its surrounding areas into a major metropolitan community. Mr. Frankovich received his B.S. in Mathematics from Stanford and his J.D. from UCLA. Matt Addison, a lifelong Reno resident, joined McDonald Carano in 1989. Matt is an active member of our community where he has raised his three children, coached youth sports, practiced martial arts, supported wildlife organizations and serves as a pro tem trial judge. His law practice focuses on commercial litigation, and he has successfully represented many clients in very substantial liability matters. He handles all phases of litigation, including motion practice, discovery, arbitration, and bench and jury trials in city, state, and federal courts, and appeals before the Nevada Supreme Court. Mr. Addison also has extensive experience as a court appointed and private arbitrator and mediator. He received his B.A. from UCLA in International Relations and his J.D. from Santa Clara University.
