Male Ally of the Year Award: Meritas Women’s Leadership Congress 2025
In 2025, McDonald Carano’s support of our women attorneys and government affairs professionals was recognized by Meritas when it awarded Mark Buckovich, our Director of Marketing, the Male Ally of the Year award. Meritas is a global network of more than 170 law firms in over 90 countries.
Presented by the Meritas Women’s Leadership Congress, the Male Ally award recognizes our firm’s success in “securing numerous awards for McDonald Carano’s senior and associate women lawyers, along with speaking engagements and authorships, raising their profile among current and potential clients and referral sources.” The award “recognizes a male ally who is actively committed to encouraging, advancing, sponsoring, or championing the progress of women in law firms. The nomination of Mark for this award was submitted to demonstrate that male staff, as well as lawyers, can be important allies, especially when firms create an environment of allyship”.
The Women’s Leadership Awards were presented at the April 19 meeting of the Meritas Women’s Leadership Congress in Mexico City, Mexico, in conjunction with the Meritas Annual General Meeting. Awards were presented in six categories — Woman of the Year, Rising Star of the Year, Returner of the Year, Mentor of the Year, Firm of the Year, and Male Ally of the Year.
