John Fortin Receives Vince Consul Memorial Pro Bono Award
McDonald Carano proudly announces that John Fortin received the Vince Consul Memorial Pro Bono Award from the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. The award is given to an attorney “who embodies what is best in our profession and who has gone above and beyond to assist a client with a civil matter.” The award is named in memory of Vince Consul, a prominent Nevada attorney who was a champion for pro bono and access to justice. Vince served on the Board of the Eighth Judicial District Pro Bono Foundation for eight years and four terms on the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Nevada. The Italian American Lawyers Association awarded Vince the Justinian Award for his contributions to the legal profession.
LACSN recognized John for his unwavering dedication through nearly 700 hours over three years in a civil forfeiture case, achieving a settlement that returned his client’s home and provided the necessary funding to rebuild it. “John went above and beyond to right a wrong and change a life forever.”
We congratulate John on his successful resolution of the case, the award he so well deserves, and the recognition he received at the LACSN awards ceremony.
