Celebrating Over 75 Years of Serving Nevada’s Legal, Business, Government, and Civic Communities

With deep sadness, McDonald Carano announces the passing of James W. Bradshaw on May 29.

James Robertson Joins Executive Committee of the Business Law Section

McDonald Carano congratulates James Robertson on joining the Executive Committee of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Nevada. James is a Partner in our Reno office in the Business Entities & Transactions Practice. One of the Executive Committee’s most important responsibilities is reviewing NRS Title 7 for each Legislative Session to consider recommending changes to keep Nevada’s business entity statutes current and to address issues that have been identified in practice, including through judicial decisions. For example, the Executive Committee was significantly involved in AB 239 that Governor Lombardo signed into law in the 2025 Legislative Session.

The purposes of the Business Law Section are as follows:

  • Enhance the role and skills of lawyers engaged in the practice of business law through study, collection, development and dissemination of materials on subjects of interest to the business law practitioner
  • Assist in the formulation, administration and implementation of programs, forums, and other activities for the education of members of the State Bar of Nevada in matters pertaining to business laws and regulations
  • Assist the State Bar of Nevada in the development of a legislative program pertaining to business laws and regulations
  • Act upon all matters germane to its purposes as so described or referred to it by the Board of Governors.

James is prominently ranked in Corporate/Commercial Law in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. Clients describe James to Chambers researchers as “an excellent lawyer.” “James is very thorough and easy to work with. If he doesn’t have an answer, he will find the right person who does.” “James was an excellent person to have on my team for this transaction.” The Best Lawyers in America also recognizes James in Commercial Transactions and Corporate Law (2026) and he is in Nevada Business Magazine’s list of “Top Rank Attorneys” (2026, 2025, 2023).
