Celebrating 75 Years of Serving Nevada’s Legal, Business, Government, and Civic Communities

Full Grant Donation to Public Interest Law Association at UNLV Boyd School of Law

McDonald Carano is proud to be the First Full Grant Sponsor of the William S. Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada-Las Vegas Public Interest Law Association’s 25th Anniversary Silver State Auction. We appreciate this opportunity to help student-led PILA make it possible for students to explore careers in public interest by providing grants for summer work at a nonprofit or government agency. McDonald Carano annually donates a Full Grant to the Silver State Auction. Our support of PILA includes sponsoring a luncheon panel discussion hosted by PILA on the topic of Pro Bono Work in the Private Sector. John Fortin participated on the panel.

Part of the mission of the Boyd School of Law is to serve communities through public interest work. A student may apply for a PILA grant if they obtain a non-paying public interest position, which is a legal position under the supervision of an attorney at a non-profit or government agency that represents indigent or under-served populations.

The 25th Anniversary Silver State Auction takes place from 6:00-9:00 pm on February 29 at the Thomas & Mack Strip View Pavilion to recognize community leaders and raise scholarship funds. Attendance, auction, and awardee information is available here
