Celebrating Over 75 Years of Serving Nevada’s Legal, Business, Government, and Civic Communities

Appointed to Nevada Standing Committee on Judicial Ethics

McDonald Carano congratulates Jimmy Dahu on his appointment to a two-year term beginning February 1, 2026 on the State of Nevada’s Standing Committee on Judicial Ethics. The Nevada Supreme Court created the Standing Committee on Judicial Ethics to provide judges and aspirants to judicial office advisory opinions regarding ethical matters that may arise in the ordinary course of judicial service, or in the elective or appointment process. The committee also assists the Nevada Supreme Court by studying and recommending additions, amendments, or repeal of provisions of the Revised Nevada Code of Judicial Conduct or other laws governing the conduct of judges and judicial candidates.

The 18-member committee consists of twelve attorneys and six judges. The Board of Governors of the State Bar of Nevada appoints the attorney members and the Nevada Supreme Court appoints the judge members.  We thank Jimmy for his service to Nevada’s legal profession and for volunteering his time in this important role. More information about the Nevada Standing Committee on Judicial Ethics is available here.

Jimmy Dahu has more than 13 years of experience clerking, interning, and volunteering with bankruptcy courts in New York, Alabama, Rhode Island, and most recently Nevada, where he enjoyed the privilege of working with Judge Laurel Davis/Babero, Judge Spraker, Judge Beesley, Judge Nakagawa, Judge Zive, and Judge Cox. Jimmy is located in McDonald Carano’s Las Vegas office and is a member of McDonald Carano’s Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Financial Restructuring Practice Group.
