Adam Hosmer-Henner Receives the
Vince Consul Memorial Pro Bono Award

McDonald Carano proudly announces that Adam Hosmer-Henner received the Vince Consul Memorial Pro Bono Award from the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. The award recognizes “stellar contributors to pro bono who help protect Southern Nevadans’ rights in civil matters.”

The 2021 award was presented to both Adam of McDonald Carano and Maggie McLetchie of McLetchie Law Group. The Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada said Adam and Maggie “more than earned this award for their commendable work in successfully litigating a class action lawsuit to ensure prisoners suffering from Hepatitis C were provided care. They donated countless hours to this effort and worked tirelessly to help indigent prisoners get access to their medications through the Federal Government Pro Bono Program. Their work literally saved the lives of some of our society’s most helpless members.”

The award is given in memory of Vince Consul, an attorney who was a champion for access to justice and pro bono, who passed away in 2010. The Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada honors his memory by giving this award to an attorney “who embodies what is best in our profession and who has gone above and beyond to assist a client with a civil matter.”

In addition to maintaining a substantial litigation practice and serving as co-chair of McDonald Carano’s Appellate Practice, Adam’s pro bono work has also been recognized with his nomination to serve on both the U.S. District Court’s Pro Bono Committee and the Pro Bono Committee of the Supreme Court of Nevada. Adam was also selected to The American Lawyer’s 2021 “West Trailblazers” list which recognizes attorneys who are “truly agents of change.” Adam’s West Trailblazers’ interview published in The American Lawyer includes his insights and perspectives on the pro bono case that led to the Vince Consul Memorial Pro Bono Award.
