McDonald Carano is proud to help sponsor the event and support the Nevada Women’s Fund’s mission of Empowering Women to Achievement.

The chair of the 2023 Women of Achievement event is Mariluz Cristina Garcia, Ph.D., the daughter of immigrants, first person in her family to earn a doctorate degree, and first Latina elected to the Board of Washoe County Commissioners. The keynote speaker is Sandra Douglass Morgan, President of the Las Vegas Raiders, the first Black woman to hold that role in the National Football League, the first person of color to have served as chair of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, and the first African American City Attorney in the State of Nevada. This year’s 40th Anniversary event also celebrates founding members Maya Miller, Barbara Thornton, and Lynn Atcheson with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement award.
