Business/Professional Staff Positions

  • Legal Accounting Specialist (Reno, NV)
    • We are actively recruiting for a F/T Legal Accounting Specialist to work in our Reno Office. This F/T, non-exempt level position will report directly to the Firm’s Controller and will provide direct client collection and specific accounting support for a busy law firm. This position provides exposure/opportunities to learn many aspects of the Firm’s accounting operations and interact with the Firm’s lawyers, secretaries and other accounting personnel. This individual must be flexible, well organized, detail oriented and deadline focused. Duties and responsibilities will include the following;
      • Job Duties and Responsibilities:
        • Process all conflict checks for Reno office attorneys.
        • Open new matters within Surepoint accounting software (f/k/a Rippe & Kingston).
        • Contact clients regarding delinquent accounts.
        • Maintain client collection notes in Surepoint.
        • Identify and help resolve problematic patterns and situations that may adversely impact billing and collections.
        • Field all attorney and client billing inquiries.
        • Provide back-up support to Accounts Payable and Billing, as needed.
        • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Knowledge and Skills required:
        • 2 years of previous accounting and client collections experience required. Legal collections or Legal accounting experience preferred.
        • Solid verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate with diverse groups of attorneys, staff and clients to provide information with courtesy and tact.
        • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
        • Have an acute attention to detail.
        • Able to apply new resources and technologies.
        • Capable of multi-tasking and adjust to shifting priorities in a very busy environment.
        • Working knowledge of office equipment such as copiers, postage machines, document management systems and Microsoft products.
        • Must be able to work overtime on occasion and/or as needed.
        • Must present and maintain a professional and organized work environment.
        • Possess a positive attitude and be a team player.
        • Able to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretion.
