• Culture – McDonald Carano earned the first “Partner in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” medallion from the State Bar of Nevada. The medallion is awarded to firms that complete at least five DEI initiatives in the categories of recruitment, retention, pipeline and community programs, and coaching and training. McDonald Carano annually completes more than 10 initiatives and continues to receive this annual recognition since the launch of the State Bar’s program in 2023. In October 2024, McDonald Carano received the Law Firm of the Year Award from the Las Vegas Chapter of the National Bar Association in recognition of our contributions to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in Nevada’s legal community. The LVNBA is an association of predominantly Black lawyers, judges, law professors, and other legal professionals. In 2025, we received the Male Ally of the Year award from the Meritas Women’s Leadership Congress for supporting the advancement of women in law firms. In 2025, we also received two recognitions in the inaugural Best Places for Women to Work in Northern Nevada survey created by the Nevada Women’s Fund. McDonald Carano is recognized in the categories of Empowerment Through Mentorship and Empowerment Through Purpose Driven Work. McDonald Carano is the only law firm that received recognition.
• Best in Business – In 2025, 2024, 2023 and 2022, McDonald Carano received more awards than any other business and any other law firm in Northern Nevada Business Weekly’s “Best In Business” contest. In all four years, we received the highest number of votes in the categories of Law Firm (1st Place) and Most Philanthropic Company with more than 30 employees (1st Place), as well as numerous McDonald Carano attorneys and government affairs professionals recognized among the top three highest vote winners in the “Influential Leader” category and “Up & Coming Business Person” category.
