Utilities and Regulatory Law
McDonald Carano Wilson attorneys have represented a diverse group of clients and interests before state and federal regulatory agencies and commissions. Locally, we have appeared extensively before the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada and nationally before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Regionally, our lawyers have represented clients before the Arizona Corporation Commission and the California Public Utilities Commission. Our firm's experience includes representation of clients at the National Energy Board of Canada and before the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Our lawyers have significant experience with general rate, deferred energy, integrated resource planning, utility facility siting, pipeline safety, certificate of convenience and necessity issues and a full range of other utility regulatory matters. We have counseled clients on fuel acquisition and transportation matters as well as assisting clients with asset purchases and sales and related regulatory approvals.
In the course of our practice our lawyers have represented electric, gas, water and steam utilities or customers or ratepayers who utilize these utility services. Our lawyers have appeared on behalf of natural gas pipelines, water purveyors, electric generators and transmission providers, or customers utilizing those services. We have counseled alternative energy providers seeking access to regulated pipelines or transmission and distribution facilities.
The depth of our utility and regulatory experience, the relationships we have developed with the commissions and other regulatory bodies before whom we appear and the personal attention we pay to each and every client's needs are why the lawyers of McDonald Carano Wilson are among the most respected utility and regulatory practioners.
