AREAS OF PRACTICE
Mr. Care, a firm partner who retired in 2014, has broad experience in all aspects of commercial litigation, to include arbitration and mediation, settlement, trial and appeal. He also chaired the firm's Government Affairs Group.
He has litigated in state and federal court, and argued before the Nevada Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Additionally, he has testified extensively before legislative and local government bodies. Mr. Care is a former member of the Nevada State Senate, serving from 1998 - 2010. In addition to serving as Assistant Majority Leader and Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Mr. Care was Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Government Affairs, and Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Taxation. Mr. Care has served as a Uniform Law Commissioner since 1999, is a member of the Commission’s Executive Committee, and chairs the Commission's Legislative Council, which has responsibility for enactment of uniform laws in all states. He chaired the Commission’s drafting committee for the Model Registered Agents Act, and served as a member of numerous uniform law drafting committees. Prior to becoming an attorney, he was a broadcast journalist and news director for the ABC-TV affiliate in Las Vegas. He served in the United States Army from 1966 until 1969, to include a tour in Vietnam.

Commercial & Complex Litigation
Mr. Care has represented clients in the gaming, printing, and liquor industries, charter schools, commercial landlords, and parties in all manner of other areas in both contract and tort actions. He has also tried cases involving libel law.
Government Affairs & Advocacy
As chair of the Government Affairs Group, Mr. Care represented Nevada, regional and national clients in a variety of sectors, including energy, health care, education, hospitality, public safety, transportation, recycling/waste management, communications, transportation and project development. The Group represents clients in grassroots campaigns, in local government proceedings, in the state legislature, at the agencies of the executive branch, and in regulatory proceedings. Group members also have frequent interactions with Nevada¹s congressional offices to facilitate client issues.
